About Blind Rivets
Blind rivets, also known as pop rivets, are a type of fastener used to join two or more materials together. They are useful when you can only access one side of the workpieces. Blind rivets are used because they are strong, secure, and efficient. Blind rivets have two components: the rivet body and the mandrel. The rivet body is the tubular part. It is usually smooth, cylindrical, and contains a mandrel, or small rod, inside. The Mandrel is the thin rod that runs through the center of the rivet. One end of the mandrel is inserted into the rivet body, while the other end protrudes out.
Blind rivets come in various sizes and materials to fit a variety of needs. They can be made of aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, plastic, and other materials. They are commonly used to join metal, plastics, wood, and other blind rivet installation uses when it is not practical to use nuts or bolts.
Types of blind rivets: open-end rivets, tri-grip rivets, easy-entry rivets, Q rivets, closed-ended rivets, groove rivets, structural rivets, high-strength rivets, multi-grip rivets, mate rivets, T-rivets, and Speed Fastening®.
